Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats.  Fall is just around the corner.  That makes me think of warm smells like cinnamon and nutmeg.

I just love it!  This recipe is like having the fall flavors all wrapped up in one yummy breakfast!  If you have already made my Almond Butter Overnight Oats, you know that this recipe is super easy!

Apple Cinnamon Overnight oats

This oatmeal has a little crunch in the morning from the steel cut oats.  If you like more of a smoother oatmeal, then rolled oats may be better for you to use.

I make up a whole bunch of these and then just grab and go during the week.  I added no sugar to mine at all, but if you like your oatmeal a bit sweeter, I will put an option in the ingredients.

  1. I made this last night to have this morning for breakfast. I have never had Steel Cut Oats before as I usually buy the Old fashioned Oats. This was delicious. I had to heat mine up some because I just think oatmeal should be warm. It was very good. Cant wait to make it again.
  2. Overnight oats, I have heard a lot about them but unfortunaly I have never try them. I will try this recipe, seems perfect after a long run when I just wanto to EAT!
    1. I hope you enjoy it! I love eating them right before my workout. Gives me tons of energy and keeps me full until lunch!
  3. Can the overnight oats be made on Sunday and held to enjoy as late as Friday? Evenings get away so fast and I like to do a lot of my cooking on Sunday for the week. Can't wait, thanks.
  4. I will be starting to teach a spin class every Friday @ 5:30am and 9:30am at the gym where I work. This will be quick and easy. I have been making my oatmeal the same way for 2yrs now. In the microwave with fruit, but I'm willing to try something different. I may add some fruit too. so excited to see how it makes me feel after the class!!
  5. These were delicious~ I used the rolled oats and warmed it up in the microwave for about 45 seconds and they were perfect. So easy to make. Thanks for sharing ;)
  6. Just made these...I used grated apple (no applesauce on hand) and added chopped walnuts and pomegranate because, well, I had them and....yum! Can't wait to try it tomorrow morning!
  7. I had these mostly made and realized I had no applesauce! So, I chucked a couple apples, with skin, in my vitamix - instant applesauce! Much healthier than store bought and a really intense apple flavor in the morning! Thanks for the recipe!
    1. Oh great! I have done that myself as well. :) I also have a recipe for homemade crock pot applesauce on the blog that is super yummy. I agree it's way better than store bought.
  8. Looking forward to trying this. I have often made Bircher muesli - similar to overnight oats - mix rolled oats, yoghurt, grated apple, mashed banana, a bit of honey together. Leave in fridge overnight. Next morning add chopped nuts, berries, seeds, all optional. Very tasty.
    1. It is pretty bland without the syrup. I am sorry you didn't like it. I have had a lot of good feedback from it. What do mean by nasty?
