Healthy Apple Almond Energy Bites

One of my most favorite snacks is an apple with almond butter.  The flavors were just made for each other.  So these Apple Almond Energy Bites were inspired by that snack.  These healthy energy bites are super easy to make and they have no added sugar except for the sugar in the apple I used.

I thought they were plenty sweet, but if you like things a little sweeter, you can always add a couple dates or some maple syrup.  If you like these, then you may also like my 3 Ingredient Energy Bites and my Cherry Chocolate Energy Bites.

  1. Hi Melissa, I'm really excited to try these. I am a little new on the whole foods lifestyle, and did not realize that you could eat hemp. I have an auto immune disease and am hoping that hemp will help with my symptoms. I have really enjoyed your blog so far!
      1. About 104 calories each ball. I included 2 tablespoons of agave nectar and swapped sunflower/honey butter instead of almond butter
  2. Are the hemp hearts a necessary ingredient? I have everything to make these, except the hemp. I would imagine that the almond butter and chia seeds are the binding ingredients. Thanks for all of your wonderful recipes, I love your website! I made the transition to clean eating last year, and you have helped me discover the natural goodness in so many ingredients that I might not have otherwise!!
    1. Thank you Cindy!! No, they are not necessary. You can probably just add more chia seeds or use flax meal in place of the hemp hearts.
  3. Is there something going on with your site? I have been coming on to check out new recipes for weeks. Is this the last recipe you have posted? This has been showing as your latest recipe for weeks.
    1. No. I have posted lots of new recipes since this one. Maybe you are looking at a cached copy? This is my newest post. https://mywholefoodlife.com/2015/01/30/chocolate-chip-cookies-two/
  4. These look delicious! I'm wondering how many balls this recipe yields? And if anyone is following weight watchers, any idea how many points each one would be?
  5. Are you SURE this was 2 cups of OATS??? My motor on my blender just died because it did NOT have enough wetness to it...not happy That my expensive blender died, just got it too....
    1. Yes that measurement is right. I have had no complaints about this recipe so far. So sorry your blender was having a hard time. :( Maybe the apples were smaller than the ones I used?
      1. Oh my Gosh, I just reread my comment, and realized it sounded so rude. I am so sorry. yes, the apples were ALOT smaller, just retried my blender and it started up again, I think it was too full...so I dumbed it out into a bowl and just Blended with my hands, it worked! Now they are in the fridge... once again, I am so sorry about my firet comment...
