Healthy Honey Mustard Dressing

Healthy Honey Mustard Dressing.  You have to try it!  My kids will eat almost any veggie in honey mustard dressing.  Can you relate?  Same goes for ranch dressing.  I like to make my own with real ingredients so I know exactly what is going into their mouths.

Plus, it’s super easy to make your own salad dressing.  You probably already have all the ingredients on hand to make this healthy dressing recipe!

If you wanted to keep this dressing completely vegan, you can use maple syrup instead of honey, and a non-dairy yogurt. I have done that and it’s works just as well.  I like to make this order rather than make a large batch. You can really do it either way, though.  For a larger batch, I suggest doubling the recipe.

Serve immediately or store in the fridge for later. I keep mine in recycled glass jam jars. It should last about a week. Super easy, right?

  1. Im really excited for this. I already make my own, and yes that gets boring! Bc its the basic same ole-same ole thing. Im going to use the organic Dijon as my mustard. ( only bc thats what I have on hand) Thanks so much for sharing :)
  2. This looks amazing... and no kidding, it's healthy! I put all of the ingredients into my "myfitnesspal" recipe/calorie calculator (assuming non-fat greek style yogurt) and came up with 25 calories per 2T dressing! Definitely will become my go-to dressing. I'll bet it's yummy on charbroiled chicken and rice, too.
  3. Never was a big fan of honey mustard dressing. Made this recipe andot will be a favorite. I used Fage fat free yogurt. Next will try making my wn ketchup so I can make 1000 dressing without eggs. Don't like eggs. Just made the spiced apple jam and it is in the fridge setting up ..no t so sure about that one but know it will be good on my Paleo Pumpkin Pancakes.
  4. I am vegan and coconut yogurt isn't readily available where I live, this is how I make my honey mustard using nuts as a base. http://rawsynergistics.com/nutrition/easy-healthy-homemade-honey-mustard
  5. This was my first wholefoodlife try. I am not a cook at all and have always eaten very processed foods. I was so excited had ordered my raw honey got Greek yogurt from the store (got fat free though is that considered whole??) went to put in the lemon juice we had in fridge, yep had extra chemicals so not whole food, then used the yellow mustard from fridge again had a bunch of chemicals!!! So in the end it tasted different from what we are used to and the honey was hard, our usual honey is liquid. My family of five was excited about it even though we ate fish sticks with it, and messed up on the mustard and lemon juice!! Have to start somewhere:)
    1. I hope you liked it? The raw honey is hard, but I just warm it up before mixing everything together. Maybe you can try that next time? You can microwave it for a 15 seconds or stick the jar in a pot of warm water.
        1. I buy yellow mustard at Sprouts. Their brand. Just read the ingredient lists at the stores. Some of them contain artificial dyes. :( Sprouts brand does not. For the lemon juice, I just use fresh squeezed. You can juice a lemon and freeze what you don't need in ice cube trays. Then you have it whenever a recipe calls for it.
  6. When you say it lasts about a week, do you mean that is how long it is good for or that's how long it usually takes for you to use it up?
  7. Does this have a strong tang flavor from the yogurt? I loooove honey mustard, but like the sweet kind most so I'm worried this may be a little too tangy for me. Still willing to give it a try though.
    1. I don't think it has a tang, but if you are sensitive, you might taste one? You can always add a tiny bit more honey to hopefully block it out.
  8. I was a big fan of Ken's Steakhouse honey mustard dressing, but I made this last night to go on our salad and I'm sold! Will never buy store bought again!
  9. Love this recipe. I used Greek yoghurt, regular honey and then I added some grated fresh garlic and fresh parsley. So good, thanks for the inspiration.
