Football season is upon us, so now is the time to come up with some game day recipes! Buffalo sauce is a key ingredient in many game day recipes. However, buffalo sauce does not need to contain dairy. Plant based diets can be good for your health and the planet. Have you thought about taking the challenge to be meatless at least one day a week? Take the #MeatlessMondayNight challenge starting with this healthy sauce recipe for Monday Night Football. It could be used as a dip for veggies or a sauce for roasted cauliflower, roasted chickpeas, hummus, or just about anything else!
Silk’s plant-based beverages and yogurt alternatives are extremely versatile in the kitchen and can be used to create delicious meat- and dairy-free versions of your go-to tailgating recipes. I chose to use Silk’s Cashew Milk for my Vegan Buffalo Sauce. The rich flavor went very well in the recipe.

Vegan Buffalo Sauce
Makes 1 cup Buffalo Sauce
1 cup cashews (soaked overnight)
1/4 cup hot sauce (I used Franks)
1/4 cup Silk Unsweetened Cashew Milk
2 T apple cider vinegar
1 clove garlic
1 T Vegan Worcestershire sauce
1 T chives + more for garnish
1 T fresh parsley
1 T water (optional if the mixture is too thick)
Drain the water from the cashews. Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. This sauce should keep in the fridge for at least a week. Enjoy!
