Healthy Apple Almond Energy Bites

One of my most favorite snacks is an apple with almond butter.  The flavors were just made for each other.  So these Apple Almond Energy Bites were inspired by that snack.  These healthy energy bites are super easy to make and they have no added sugar except for the sugar in the apple I used.

I thought they were plenty sweet, but if you like things a little sweeter, you can always add a couple dates or some maple syrup.  If you like these, then you may also like my 3 Ingredient Energy Bites and my Cherry Chocolate Energy Bites.

  1. I love this recipe! I am going to make it for my toddler (and me) tomorrow. Do you know if the Chia seeds will be expanded by the time the balls are set? I'm slightly concerned about dry Chia seeds. Also, can I substitute flex seed for the hemp hearts? I look forward to more delicious recipes!
    1. Thanks Sonja! I am not sure about the chia seeds expanding, but you can definitely use flax seed for hemp hearts.
  2. Hi Melissa! I just made this recipe and this will be the perfect snack for my toddler and me. Do you mind if I use this recipe to round up some apple recipes? I'd of course link back to your site. I would've emailed you but I couldn't find contact info. Thanks!

  3. Hi Melissa, I made these energy bites on Sunday and they were delicious! Thank you!! I had never heard of Hemp Hearts, so I kept those out, and I didn't have maple syrup so I used honey. These will be a weekly recipe for my household. Thanks again!
