Homemade Sweet Sour Sauce

Homemade Sweet Sour Sauce.  Who doesn’t like Sweet and Sour Sauce?  Almost everyone loves it.  The problem with it, is it’s usually loaded with sugar, salt and other additives.

Well I am happy to say my homemade sweet and sour sauce recipe is only sweetened with fruit.  It’s very good and very versatile.

It makes a great dip or stir fry sauce.  You can even use it as a marinade for roasted vegetables.  If you like my Thai Peanut Sauce, you will love this one too!

I use pineapple juice to sweeten my sweet and sour sauce recipe.  I bought a pineapple and juiced it myself.  You can also blend and strain if you don’t have a juicer.

Or you can buy pineapple juice at the store.  Just make sure it’s 100% juice.  If you want the sauce a little thicker, you can add some arrowroot or cornstarch.

  1. What a cool idea for a recipe! I'm always looking for healthy stir fry sauce recipes and they are few and far between because of all the sugar that is in most of them. Thanks!!
  2. I'm definitely going to try this tonight!! My husband and have just decided to go Vegan on the suggestion of one of my Cleveland Clinic Docs.
