Holiday Gift Guide for Whole Foodies

Well it’s that time of year again.  I am going to share with you my must have kitchen gadgets. In case you are making your lists. 😉

Holiday Gift Guide 1

Food Processor

This is my most used appliance!  I have the 7 cup and it’s perfect for all my sweet recipes.  I have had this one 4 years now and it’s held up great.  I sometimes use it twice a day.  Well worth the money.  Click here for more info

Blender

I have used both the Blendtec and the Vitamix.  I personally prefer the Blendtec.  It has a wider base, which makes it very easy to clean.  It also pulverizes everything.  No chunks in your smoothies. 🙂  It’s great for soups, smoothies, hummus, nut butter and just about everything else. I highly recommend looking into the twister jar attachment as well.  It’s great for making small batches of dressing, hummus and nut butter. Click here for more info.

Instant Pot

This is my new favorite toy!  It can do almost everything.  It’s a slow cooker, rice cooker, pressure cooker and yogurt maker all in one!  You can use it to soften dried beans in like 20 minutes!  No soaking required!  It is a huge time saver.  My husband cooks a whole chicken for our dog in 25 minutes!  We use it every single weekend and have saved so much time. I know some people are intimidated by pressure cookers, but this one is super safe and easy to use.  Click here for more info.

Stainless Steel Pots and Pans

This is seriously the last cookware set you will ever have to buy.  I have had mine 11 years and it’s still like new.  I use these every single day.  Easy to clean too.  Click here for more info.

Spiralizer

If you haven’t tried making veggie pasta, you need to.  Veggie pasta is so delicious and much healthier than regular pasta.  Since they are lower in calories, you can eat more too.  Yay!  There are many spiralizers out there, but the Paderno is the best in my opinion.  It can do hard and soft veggies no problem.  My fave is sweet potato pasta.  Out of this world delicious! Stainless Steel Baking Sheets

I have made the switch away from aluminum and non stick bakeware.  I love these pans.  They clean up real nice and cook everything evenly.  I also use a silpat to cover them.  They are very durable and should last a long time. Click here for more info.

Silicone Muffin Cups

I have these in all 3 sizes.  Standard, Large and Mini.  They are so easy to use.  No need to even grease them.  In fact, you don’t even need a muffin pan if you use these.  They stand on their own on a baking sheet.  I also use these to store snacks in my kid’s lunchboxes.  They make great snack dividers. Click here for more info.

Microplane

I love this tool for grating garlic.  You can also use it to scrape the zest off your citrus fruits.  Here is a trick too. When you peel an orange, don’t throw away the peels.  Freeze them for when a recipe calls for zesting. 🙂 Click here for more info.

Glass Storage Containers

I LOVE this set.  I have this and also the Pyrex storage containers.  Both are great and both are made in the USA.  The set pictured above is my favorite.  The lids are very durable and stick on real tight.  They are dishwasher, fridge, microwave and freezer safe.  My husband also uses them to take leftovers to work in his lunch boxClick here for more info.

Salad Spinner

41tUJE1GPyL

We eat a ton of salad in our house, so this gets a lot of use.  I usually run it through twice.  I never realized how much liquid lettuce can hold after it’s washed.  This helps flush everything out, so you are not left with soggy lettuce.  Click here for more info.

Blue Apple Produce Saver

81wUP2fD5dL._SL1500_

Have you been burned by your produce going bad before you get to use it?  This blue apple produce saver really helps.  It helps to absorb the ethylene gas that causes produce to sour.  Completely safe and easy to use.  Also made in the USA.  Click here for more info.

These are just a handful of the products I use and love.  For a complete list, including food items, you can check out this link.  Have a great holiday! 🙂

  1. Nice post, great stuff! Had never heard of the Instant Pot, sounds super cool! I was wondering why you cook the chicken before feeding it to your dog..? Dogs will thrive on raw chicken like they would in the wild and the raw bones are soft and safe for them. They also have very strong immune systems and are meant to eat raw, so no bacteria on the chicken will harm them. I don't actually feed my dog all raw, but I think I want to start transitioning him back to it...he used to eat raw chicken every day at his foster home before we rescued him.
    1. Our vet says cooked chicken is okay for him. We mix it with his crunchy food too. I will have to ask her about feeding him raw.
  2. This post makes me happy! I can vouch for Blendtec, I love mine to death. That Instant Pot looks like something I need! We have a pressure cooker and love it, but I really like the idea of being able to do so many things with one machine.
  3. Love to have everything.great information.although we have all the possible tools and pans but always good to find still that are available & more handy and useful
