Healthy Aging Month with Ahiflower

Did you know that September is healthy aging month? I thought I would share some great ways to help look and feel young. Now that I have approached the big 40, this is extra important to me.

Establish an exercise routine.  This can be as simple as walking around the neighborhood or joining your local gym.  I make a point to work out at least 5 days a week, but I even 3 days a week would be beneficial.

Add yoga to your life.  I suffer from anxiety and going to yoga has really helped with that.  It’s seriously changed my life! If you think yoga studio is too expensive, I highly recommend checking out free yoga workouts on You Tube. There are loads of them.

Eat a healthy, balanced diet.  I make a point to eat greens at every single meal.  If you are not a fan of dark, leafy greens, I definitely suggest adding them to smoothies.  With the right combinations of fruit, you will not taste the greens at all.

Another way you can keep healthy is to make sure you are getting enough healthy omegas.  Have you heard about Ahiflower ®  It’s the perfect daily omega supplement option for vegetarians and vegans because it’s 100% plant-based!

Ahiflower oil is a non-GMO nutritional supplement that delivers an unparalleled combination of essential omega 3-6-9.  The Ahiflower crop is grown in the UK by a community of independent farmers and the oil from the seeds is then refined in Prince Edward Island. Currently, Ahiflower is available in vegan soft-gel and liquid oil. It will soon be used as a fortified ingredient in some foods as well.

A few facts about Ahiflower:

  • Up to 4 times more effective than flaxseed oil (therefore you take less).
  • It’s sustainable.  The plant itself is a healthy habitat for bees and butterflies. (About 2 acres of Ahiflower produces as much more omega-rich oil as 40,000 sardines!)
  • Ahiflower oil has a cleaner taste and no funky smell like fish oil has.
  • It’s traceable. Growers have to follow strict guidelines to maintain identity preservation.  This means you can trace an entire batch of Ahiflower oil back to where is was grown.

  1. As a > 50 flexitarian who still leads an active outdoor lifestyle, my "weakest link" is my joints — that's where I'm feeling the earliest effects of aging... that and the fact I could swear my dog is talking to me! However, Ahiflower oil seems like a great new addition to the vegan omega pantry! Thanks for sharing, Melissa!
