Recipe Testers Needed!

If you have been following me for a while now, then you know that I have been working hard on a 2nd cookbook!  This book will be larger (100+ recipes) and will include meals in addition to desserts.  There are chapters on breakfasts, soups, salads, entrees, snacks, desserts and smoothies! The book is due out Sept. 2016. I have no images to share yet since the food photography is being done by someone else, but I am very excited about the recipes!

I need your help.  I am looking for recipe testers.  In order for you to recipe test, I need you to do the following things:

  • Follow a recipe to a T.  No changing or substituting anything.
  • Willing to try recipes that contain nuts.
  • Point out any typos or grammatical errors
  • Can test a recipe and report back by a certain date.
  • Not be a professional cook.  I am looking for untrained home cooks, even if you are a beginner.
  • Keep the recipes to yourself.  Feel free to share the food you make, just don’t share the actual recipe. 🙂

If this sounds like something you may want to do, please email me at
melissa@mywholefoodlife.com  Please do not comment under this post with the info.

In the email, please provide me the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your age
  • If you follow a certain diet (i.e. vegan, paleo, gluten free)
  • How experienced a chef are you? Beginner, intermediate, etc
  • Tell my why you want to test recipes for my book.

Thank you!!!

  1. Hi Melissa, I am interested in testing some of your recipes. My name is Kata Siegel and I am 40 yrs old. I have 3 daughters (9, 7, & 19 mos). We are all vegetarian. I guess I am somewhere in-between a beginner and intermediate cook? I look to your site frequently when I am looking for a quick dinner or healthy snacks. I suggest your site often when friends ask, looking for healthy snacks or making a change to real foods. Thanks for the opportunity! Kata Siegel
    1. Hi Katie! Thank you! Could you please send me an email with this info? I can keep better track of everyone that way. Thanks so much! :) melissa@mywholefoodlife.com
  2. Whole food, plant based, very low fat for 2 1/2 years. intermediate? skill level. I cook a lot more since our "lifestyle" change.
    1. Hi Paula! Can you please send me an email with this same info? I can keep better track of everyone easier that way. melissa@mywholefoodlife.com
  3. Hi Melissa, My name is Jen. I've been following you for a few months now. I love getting your emails with a new treat every time! I'm married with no kids. I would call myself an intermediate cook. I'm not intimidated by more complicated recipes, but I also enjoy simple ones too. I love trying new recipes and cooking for family and friends. My husband and I don't follow any specific diet. We try to eat more whole foods. I do enjoy vegetarian/vegan recipes and anything with a healthier approach. Let me know if I can help!
    1. Hi Jen! Thanks for responding! Can you please email me this info so I can keep track of everyone? Thanks so much. melissa@mywholefoodlife.com
  4. Hi Melissa- I'm a 36 yr old full time working mom and wife. We've been following a clean diet (about 90% of the time) for about 18 months. I would love to help taste test! I cook most nights and all the cooking I do, I've taught myself by watching the Food Network and Cooking Channel. Definitely not a beginner but not advanced either.....I don't experiment too much it scares me! I would love to see anything along the lines of sweet treats and appetizers in the cookbook. We love are quick snacks and sweet treats. We have no allergies in our house and my 7 yr old daughter LOVES fruits, veggies, and all meat!
  5. I am an intermediate cook in her 60's who loves to cook with Whole Foods. I'd love to be a recipe tester as long it is not a smoothie or anything with products pretending to be meat. I eat tons of nuts daily so nuts won't be an issue for me! I also love legumes, fruit and other vegetables. I like inexpensive, healthy recipes that you can quickly make. I have never "dieted" and love to work in our local Food Bank Garden. Having grown up in a farming environment in the eastern part of NC, I have always valued good, healthy food, especially the kind you grow yourself. I never even had a sandwich or a casserole until I grew up and moved away from home!
    1. Hi Jennifer! Thanks for the response. Can you please email this information to me so I can keep track of everyone? melissa@mywholefoodlife.com Thanks!
  6. I am SO excited about this! Such a great idea to ask for testers! I hope I get to help! My family loves your recipes! :)
  7. My name is Lisa and I am 36 years old. I just celebrated my 4 year cancer-versary and since my diagnosis my family and I have been enjoying whole foods even more than before. We grind our own wheat for our baked goods, desserts, and breads. I would say that I am an intermediate cook who especially loves to bake. We choose healthy living/eating and eat almost every meal at home (may eat out once a month). We do not buy premade things or prepackaged goods. We would love to taste some delicious new healthy recipes... we have loved all that we have tried from here. My family consists of my husband and I as well as our 3 children. Thanks for the opportunity :D
    1. Hi Lisa! Thanks for responding. Can you please email me so I can have everyone in one place? Thanks! melissa@mywholefoodlife.com
  8. My name is Cara. I am mother of two young children and have been cooking for as long as I can remember. I am currently studying Commercial Cookery at TAFE in Canberra, Australia, so I understand how important it is to follow recipe to a T especially if I want to pass. I also do cookery for competition and have placed 1, 2 & 3. I don't follow any specific dietary regimen as I believe a balanced whole foods diet is best. It is also a nice sneaky way to get nutrients into fussy eaters ! I hope I am given the opportunity to test as I love your blog and have tried a few things which I have enjoyed devouring. Good luck with the cookbook even if I don't get selected. Hopefully it will be available soon enough. Kind regards Cara
    1. Hi Cara! Thanks for responding. Can you please email me this info? Thanks so much. melissa@mywholefoodlife.com
