Small Steps Toward Health

January is the time when we all decide to make healthy changes. I know I did some indulging around the holidays!  Sometimes the thought of a complete lifestyle overhaul can be intimidating.  I like to set small goals at first. Those small goals can add up to be big positive changes!  There are many little things you can do to take steps toward health.  For example:

  • Take small walks around your neighborhood.
  • Climb stairs at home
  • Start to read labels
  • Up your intake of fruits and vegetables

Carrot Ginger Juice

My husband accidentally bought an extra bag of carrots yesterday.  So I decided to make this Carrot Ginger Juice.  I will also be making a batch of my carrot cake breakfast cookies and carrot cake energy bites.  They freeze well, so I will be saving them for my husband’s lunches.  This carrot ginger juice is a great way to sneak some veggies into your kids.  I think this juice would also make great popsicles.  I like these molds for popsicles.

If you don’t have a juicer, you can blend in a blender and strain.   I used a large chunk of ginger in mine.  I like my juice with a kick! 🙂

Immune Boosting Antioxidant Juice

I did a small juice fast the other day, and this immune boosting juice was one that I made during that juice fast. You may think, wait a minute. Juice a sweet potato? Trust me. They make for some yummy juice.
