Healthy Honey Mustard Dressing

Healthy Honey Mustard Dressing.  You have to try it!  My kids will eat almost any veggie in honey mustard dressing.  Can you relate?  Same goes for ranch dressing.  I like to make my own with real ingredients so I know exactly what is going into their mouths.

Plus, it’s super easy to make your own salad dressing.  You probably already have all the ingredients on hand to make this healthy dressing recipe!

If you wanted to keep this dressing completely vegan, you can use maple syrup instead of honey, and a non-dairy yogurt. I have done that and it’s works just as well.  I like to make this order rather than make a large batch. You can really do it either way, though.  For a larger batch, I suggest doubling the recipe.

  1. Your honey mustard is certainly more fancy than mine. Mine consists of just honey and a brown or creole mustard. I haven't made it in quite sometime and just discovered on the ingredients that the creole mustard has xanthan gum. I might have to trade it out for something else for the next time. Better yet, I'm going to try yours.
    1. The generic spicy brown mustard I buy is just mustard, salt, and vinegar. And also, I do the same as you--just mustard and honey. Sometimes I mix in a lil mayo.
        1. I usually add in Cinnamon. I do not like spicy mustard, so this give it a bit of zip. When I do not care about the health factor, I use honey, yellow mustard, mayo, and cinnamon. I could drink that stuff.
      1. I made it and it is very good. Thanks for all of your recipes. I have tried many of them and haven't been disappointed yet!
  2. OOOOH one more question. Can you recommend a thousand island recipe? My kids love the store bought so I have to find a tasty alternative......
    1. If you're not fussy, you can make 1000 Island dressing by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, chopped hardboiled eggs, and pickle relish. If you want to avoid HFCS or other ingredients you'll have to modify this.
      1. I have a homemade recipe for ketchup that you can use as well. https://mywholefoodlife.com/2013/04/12/homemade-ketchup/

      1. you can use - capital T (as well as Tbl) is for tablespoon and lower case t is for teaspoon (as well as tsp). I love your recipes and FB page - look forward to seeing what you are going to be listing next. I have learnt much from you listings about what is bad for you and you have brought awareness to me and I am sure many others.
  5. I spy some organic raw honey in the background! That's the kind we always keep in stock at home. I buy ours from Vitacost.com because I haven't yet found a better deal... Anyway, I absolutely love your site. I didn't discover it until I was in full swing with educating myself about ingredients, so much of that aspect I am already aware of because I did a lot of my own research, but it's so nice to see someone else CARE, and your recipes are fabulous. It shows that sometimes you can do just something differently and not have to give it up entirely! Keep doing what you're doing :)
  6. I have been following your web site for some time and decided it was time to start trying your recipes. I made this dressing- it was really good. Thank you for all of recipes and helping getting my family to eat better.
  7. Thanks so much for this recipe. My daughter loves honey mustard but like you said, it's pretty un-healthy and we usually have coconut yogurt on hand!
  8. Thanks for this! Quick question, probably a silly one: I hate yogurt.. Does it have a yogurt-y taste? And Does it come out on the sweet side? My hubby is kind of a hiney mustard snob, lol! Am dying to try a homemade version, this looks great! Thanks!
