Watermelon Lime Sorbet

We bought this huge watermelon the other day.  While the flavor was very sweet, the texture was a bit weird, so I decided to make this Watermelon Lime Sorbet with it.   What an awesome decision that was!  It came out SO GOOD!!  There is also ZERO added sugar. This healthy sorbet recipe is vegan, gluten free and paleo.  You only need 3 simple ingredients!  I used my ice cream maker, but if you don’t have one, you can always make popsicles instead.  I like these molds.

Just 3 simple ingredients to make this healthy and refreshing treat! Perfect for summer with zero added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups watermelon, cubed
  • 1 cup pineapple, cubed
  • Juice from 1 1/2 limes

Instructions

  1. In a blender , combine all 3 ingredients. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour contents into an ice cream maker and turn on. It should take about 15 minutes to make sorbet. Once done, transfer to ice cream tubs or serve immediately. The consistency will be more like a soft serve, so if you like a harder sorbet, you can put the sorbet in the freezer for a couple extra hours. Enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Quick tip: If you don't want to have the ice cream freeze solid, you can add 1-2 tsp vodka to the mixture before making. That should help keep it soft enough to scoop.

    1. Put it in a large glass or metal bowl in the freezer. Take it out in 10 minutes and stir it with a wire wisk then put it back in the freezer. Keep doing this for 1-2 hours.
