Flourless Gingerbread Cookies

So you know I am a huge fan of flourless cookies.  These Flourless Gingerbread Cookies are my latest creation.  These Flourless Gingerbread Cookies came out really well.  Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.  My husband liked them so much, he didn’t want to share any!  These flourless cookies are super easy to make and you only need 5 simple ingredients!

I used cashew butter in my recipe for it’s mild flavor and buttery texture.  I think macadamia butter would work well too.  You can probably use peanut butter or almond butter as well, but the taste may be a little different.  Sunflower butter is an option for those with nut allergies.  These gingerbread cookies would be great for cookies swaps.  Don’t tell anyone they are made healthier.  I promise they will never know!  This makes a small batch of cookies so you will not be stuck with a huge batch in the house.  Please let these cookies cool completely before removing from the baking sheet.  Otherwise they could crumble. Enjoy!

Salted Caramel Chocolate Tarts (Vegan)

You guys!  These Salted Caramel Chocolate Tarts are so good!  I got the idea to make them when I saw this recipe the other day.  While it looks fantastic, it uses some ingredients that are not whole foods.  So I decided to re-make this recipe, but with whole food ingredients.

Before I share my recipe, let me be clear that these are very rich.  I used 4 inch tart shells and got 4 out of the recipe.  You can probably use a large tart shell too.

These Salted Caramel Chocolate Tarts are vegan, gluten free and grain free!  If you like things with salted caramel, you may also like my Flourless Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies.

These delicious chocolate tarts would make a great holiday dessert.  They fit almost any diet.  They are gluten free, vegan and grain free.

If you needed a nut free option, you could make the crust out of sunflower seeds and use Enjoy Life chocolate chips.

These tarts are about 4 inches and can easily be split between 2 people.  That is, if you want to share any! 🙂

If you don’t want to use chocolate chips, you can use the 3 ingredient chocolate recipe in this video. If you go that route, these need to be stored in the freezer though.  For more videos, you can subscribe to my You Tube Channel.

Homemade Fajita Seasoning with No Additives

Homemade Fajita Seasoning with no funny additives.  I have a new recipe for you guys!  This time it’s DIY fajita seasoning.  Why homemade fajita seasoning you ask?

Most store bought fajita seasoning contains far too much sodium and other unwanted additives.  For a long time, I didn’t even think to look at the labels on my seasoning.

When I did I was surprised!  Not only is this fajita seasoning recipe cheaper to make, it contains no additives!

I already had this recipe in my homemade re-fried beans post, but I wanted to share it in it’s own post so you can find it easier.  This is also a recipe for a much bigger amount.  It makes about 1/2 cup seasoning.

This fajita seasoning recipe can be added to so many things.  Rice and beans, popcorn and vegetables are a few that come to mind.  I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do.

5 Minute Healthy Frosting (Vegan & Paleo)

5 Minute Healthy Frosting.  I love when a recipe accidentally turns into something wonderful.  This is the case in this 5 minute healthy vegan frosting recipe.

I made some donuts and I wanted to make a glaze to dip them in.  Well the glaze ended up looking more like a frosting.

So that is how this 5 minute healthy frosting was born.  This is a great base frosting recipe that you can add in your own flavors too.

I can see it easily becoming a strawberry frosting with a little fruit added.  Or you can add some cocoa powder to make it a chocolate frosting.

It was very easy to spread. I could see this frosting being a great addition to my flourless chocolate muffins.

5 Minute Healthy Frosting - My Whole Food Life

This frosting literally takes minutes to make.  Hence the 5 minute frosting name. 🙂  It’s also vegan, gluten free and paleo approved.

This healthy frosting recipe would make a great dairy free alternative as well. The base is made from coconut butter.

I highly recommend only using this frosting right before you eat it.  Once it refrigerates, it becomes hard.

However, since it does become hard in the fridge, it would be a great frosting for sugar cookie cutouts.  Or even frosted gingerbread cookies.

Paleo Magic Bars (Vegan & GF)

Do you like magic bars?  I made Paleo Magic Bars for you!   These Paleo Magic Bars are also vegan and gluten free.   The other day on my Facebook page, I asked about holiday treats.  A lot of people mentioned magic bars.

I had actually never even heard of magic bars before.  So I had to look them up.  The original magic bars are loaded with processed ingredients.  Well I knew I could  find a way to clean them up a bit.

Paleo Magic Bars - My Whole Food Life

What is a magic bar you ask?  It’s basically a graham cracker crust, with a caramel in the middle and then it’s topped with coconut, chocolate chips and nuts.  I used a pecan crust since graham crackers are not exactly a whole food.

I made a cleaner version of it for you.  I must say that even though my recipe is less processed, it is still indulgent and should be eaten in small amounts.  It is very rich.  My husband called these bars, the gift that keeps on giving.  Lol.  I guess he liked them. 😉

Vegan Sweetened Condensed Milk

You guys!  It is possible to make Vegan Sweetened Condensed Milk.  I don’t know about you, but I see a lot for recipes that call for sweetened condensed milk.

I always thought I had to avoid those, but now I can make some of them.  This vegan sweetened condensed milk is actually super easy to make.

I checked out this site and got a basic idea.  I chose coconut milk to use as my base.  I liked that it is rich in texture.  However, you can use any other milk you like.

Vegan Sweetened Condensed Milk - My Whole Food Life

I know you are probably wondering why my sweetened condensed milk is dark in color.  That has to do with the coconut sugar I added.

It turns it into this caramel color.

If you had used traditional white sugar, it would probably still be white.   This vegan sweetened condensed milk was so yummy!

It reminded me of caramel.  All you need is 3 simple ingredients!  I can see this being an awesome topping for ice cream too.  Or you can swirl it into the mixture for my 3 ingredient coffee popsicles.
