Have you ever had a chocolate turtle pie? It’s a decadent chocolate filling topped with caramel and pecans. One of my favorite combinations. Something about rich chocolate and pecans is so delightful and comforting this time of year when the weather gets cooler. I love to cozy up on the couch under my warm blanket and savor something chocolatey after the kids have gone to bed. Because #mommyneedschocolate 😉

This happens to be super easy to make as well.  You can make this ahead of time too.  This would be awesome topped with some coconut whip cream, or served with a side of my pecan caramel ice cream.   Yum!

Grain Free Pecan Pie (Vegan and Gluten Free)

Grain Free Pecan Pie.  You guys!  I made you a grain free pecan pie!  If I had to pick a favorite dessert, pie would be high up on the list.

This time of year we think of apple pie, pecan pie and pumpkin pie.  So I decided to come up with a healthier version of pecan pie.  Grain free and vegan pecan pie to be exact.

Grain Free Pecan Pie ~ My Whole Food Life

This pie is healthier because it is only sweetened with dates.  If you like a super sweet and gooey pecan pie, you can add a bit of maple syrup to this.

I thought it was plenty sweet the way it was.  It’s also super easy to make!  Just like my pumpkin pie, I used the crust recipe from Elena’s Pantry. I just love the simplicity of it.  My pecan pie is slightly different than the classic recipe, but it’s very good!

These muffins contain a sweet little surprise, but they are made with wholesome ingredients.  If you like my Pecan Pie Larabars, you will love these!  This is a great one to make with your kids.

        Pecan Pie Granola

The other day I made Pecan Pie Larabars.  They came out really good.  I had some leftover pecans, so I wanted to try a Pecan Pie Granola.  I love granola and eat it almost every day.  It keeps me full until lunchtime, which is something that cold cereal could never do.

I was really happy with the outcome of this pecan pie granola so I am sharing it with all of you!  This makes a great afternoon snack as well.  I used ground vanilla bean instead of vanilla extract in this recipe and it really makes a difference.  I buy it off Amazon and I love the stuff.
