These homemade chocolate bars are so good.  I wish I had made more of them.  The chocolate mold I bought was the perfect size for this recipe too.

I will be ordering another one right away.  If you don’t have a chocolate mold, don’t worry.

You can make this by using mini muffin pans as well.  It just may take a little longer to harden back up.  One of the things I like the most about this is that it requires no boiling or stirring over the stove.  Just mix, pour and viola! homemade chocolate.

This recipe is gluten free, vegan and paleo.  You can also make a magic shell out of this recipe.  Just mix and pour over ice cream.  Yummy!

Recipe Notes

This chocolate has a mild coconut taste, but it is not overwhelming. These bars are best when they are stored in the freezer.

  1. I was so excited for these, but they are WAY too coconuty for me! I was expecting it to be subtle, but it is overwhelming. Anyone have any ideas for what I can do with these instead of throwing them away? I'm sure they can be disguised and re-vamped somehow...
      1. Add just a teaspoon of natural peanut butter and it distracts from the almond flavor. Don't add too much peanut butter or it will overwhelm the chocolate flavor
  2. I made the chocolate today and it was very tasty! I made the peanut butter eggs for the peanut butter eggs from your site too. It doesn't takes exactly like a Reese peanut butter cup but it's good enough to fill my peanut butter/chocolate fix. They also keep me very full. For the peanut butter cups I used mini cupcake cups because they get stuck together in the freezer.
  3. I made this recipe using organic pure maple syrup and the syrup seperated and never froze. Has anyone else had this happen? Love the idea of this recipe. Maybe next time I will try it with honey.
    1. Really? Maybe it was not stirred enough? I had to let mine freeze for a while before they were completely solid. Sorry they tuned out that way for you.
  4. Would you be able to chop up the bars and use them to bake with like chocolate chunks or chips? Or would they just melt as soon as they get warm because of the coconut oil?
  5. I just made these and they are amazing. I didn't have any molds so I poured the mixture onto a waxed paper lined baking sheet then cut it with a pizza wheel when it got firm. I have a new favorite chocolate! Also, I didn't have enough honey so I added a drop of molasses and that worked very well.

  7. I used this recipe to make chocolate covered strawberries after I forgot to get chocolate bars from the store. I am so glad I forgot those bars because this was way easier, healthier, and more delicious. Thank you!!!!!
  8. This is so good! I was a little unsure when putting them in the freezer because it tasted a little bitter to me. But I sprinkled with sea salt as many others suggested and once set up they are perfectly sweet and good. So excited to have a healthier solution to my chocolate addiction :) This might be a dangerous recipe to have ;)
    1. So glad you like them! I also love them with sea salt. Someone else suggested adding rice cereal to make crunch bars. I am trying that next. :)
  9. Thanks for this recipe! I was planning on making a chocolate bar and then cutting it up for chocolate chip cookies, and I was wondering what ingredients besides cocoa powder, coconut oil, and a sweetener would be needed, but now I see that's all that's needed!
